ETA: I've filled fifteen of the twenty slots and there's two days left for the sale.

All right, I have a goodly number of pictures to post but I'm doing a post just on corsets with pictures.  This way if anyone wants to show friends examples for the fire sale they can link to this post.

So, without further ado...

This corset was made for [info]jibberish13.  The fashion fabric is black lace laid over cream taffeta in panels.  It has a cream bias tape edge, white canvas for the strength layer and cream cotton for the interior layer.

This is a corset/trustle combination made for [info]dearmary.  The fashion fabric is a maroon taffeta with gold printing (almost a puffy paint sort of effect).  The corset has three layers: fashion fabric, interlining and black canvas strength layer, gold grommets and black satin edging.  The trustle is lined with crepe back black satin. It is a good four yards long and can be buttoned up (as seen here) when one tires of having one's train stepped on all night long.

This is a pink and black corset/trustle combination.  The fashion fabric is black sheer embroidered with hot pink leaves and vines.  The corset has three layers: fashion fabric, black interlining, and black canvas strength layer.  It has silver grommets, black laces and a black bias tape edging.  The trustle is lined with black taffeta.

These are "action" shots of the tapestry corset.  It has two layers: cotton fashion fabric and striped blue and white canvas strength layer.  it has a blue bias tape edging, silver grommets and black laces.

All of these corsets were made using the Truly Victorian pattern.  It is, so far, my favorite pattern.  It's comfortable, gives a wonderful hourglass shape and is easy to custom size.

So, details on the fire sale:  Until June 10th--or until I reach twenty orders--one can order a corset similar to the ones above for $150.  Orders have to be paid up in full by the deadline in order to qualify.  After June 10th the price returns to the regular of $300.

The corsets will be made using the Truly Victorian pattern.  I'll customize it to your bust, waist, hip and armpit to hip measurements.  The corsets will be three layers: fashion fabric, interlining and canvas strength layer.  Each corset features at least eighteen bones (there will be no more than a two inch gap between boning), lacing bone, and busk, all steel.  The grommets are professionally set, the edges bounding with bias tape and six yards of flat lacing (either white or black) will be included.

I'm limiting myself to twenty orders just so I can insure all orders will be finished in two and a half to three months from June 10th.

Once I've received full payment I'll talk to you about measurements and fashion fabric.

I'll accept payment either via cash or PayPal.  All questions can be sent to me via LJ.

Hello, I've replied to you via e-mail.

And a clarification since this has already come up: Payments can be made in stages as long as I get the full $150 by June 10th. I'm working on a deadline here by which I need the money.

Thanks!

I've not yet made an underbust but I don't believe they'd be any more difficult than an overbust.

That written, I'm hesitant to do to many alterations to patterns in this instance only because at this price I'm just breaking even. The only way this will work is if I can sort of sweat shop the corsets out and the more alterations I have to do the longer it will take meaning the more it will cost me overall.

Would you be interested in creating a male corset? I have some experience with corseting but not as much as I would like and would be interested in a style that you have displayed.

In your opinion where do these corset fall on strict binding? I'm not sure if you've hit your 20 mark yet but definitely interested.

Hi there!

I've not had the chance to do a male corset yet, but would love to tackle such a project. To be honest, the male friends I have who have worn corsets have all just worn waist cinchers, so I'm not certain how much difference there is between male and female corsets. (And now I'm picturing a ranch where male and female corsets run around free range, allowed to let nature work it's magic to create new, baby corsets...uh, yeah, I should not be on LJ when tired.)

Anyway, the corsets are all steel boned, 18 bones at least, plus lacing bones for the back. I have had mine very tight (4" or more waist reduction) but I'm hesitant to make any claims to strict binding if only because I know there are some out there who live by the adage, "If you can still breathe it's not tight enough." I know that's probably not a very helpful answer but I don't want to be given to claims.

I'm decidedly interested in a male corset.

I've got one I picked up at fredericks, and it was simply a cupless corset. (I've seen other guys in the same one/similar designs and it seems to work well.)

Hurray for wanting a corset. :D

The trustles (they're Victorian trains with bustles attached) are $100. They can be altered to any length and tie around the waist, under the corset.

Awesome ^_^

I have two corsets already though they're under busts and always wanted a more Victorian one (also trying to put together a steampunk outfit xP)

So do I pay first or how do I do this? x3

It's been a while since I commissioned clothing and such.

Hi there!

I do require payment in full for commission work. (The first few months I was in business I found myself spending more time chasing down payments than it took to make the commission. :O).

Once I've received payment we'll get measurements and talk about fabric. I anticipate I'll be delivering the final corset and any other accessories 3-4 weeks after we finalize the fabric choice.

You can e-mail me at roach(at)idiorhythmic(dot)net if you have any other questions, or want a total price to send via PayPal.

Thanks!

That said - I did think of some questions. 1) Will the corset also include a modesty panel? That wasn't clear from your entry, though the pictures you've posted all seem to have them as a part of the corset.

2) I'm also interested in a trustle to match the corset, but I can't afford it right now, I don't think. But I would like to discuss it.

Hurray! Let me answer your questions here in case any one else has the same questions.

1) Yes, all the corsets include the modesty panel. I hate it when my back looks like the front, also lacing burns when getting laced up hurt!

2) One need only pay for the corset to get the $150 deal. Payment for any other accessories can be discussed when we're talking about measurements and fabric.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Oh and payment can be sent via PayPal to roach(at)idiorhythmic(dot)net. Please mark it as payment for Services (as this is custom work).

Hi there!

The pattern has seperate pieces for A, B, C, D and DD cup sizes and runs from 28" to 58" bust, 19" to 45" waist, and 30" to 56" hip. The length is 9" from base of armpit to waist and 15" front and back. The corset can be fully adjusted in the bust, waist, hip and length so that you get a garment that fits all your measurements. There is no additional charge as long as it fits in those ranges. If you fall out of those ranges, e-mail me at roach(at)idiorhythmic(dot)net and we'll talk.

are they steel-boned? If so, are they suitable for tight-lacing?
Many thanks,

Hello!

The corsets are steel boned, 18 at the very least, and include lacing bones in the back.

I always hesitate to claim the corsets are suitable for tight lacing because, though I experience a 4" and more waist reduction in mine, there are lots of people out there who believe that if you can still breathe in a corset it isn't tight enough.

I know that probably doesn't answer your question, but I've had the two in the pictures for almost a year (the tapestry one) and six months (the pink and black) and have had both laced very tightly without experiencing any stretching out or loosening.

They look of a good quality and if that's after a year of wear then I'm really impressed.

Hi there!

I'm answering you here, just in case there are others who share your question.

I am more than willing to ship to Australia, it'll just cost extra (somewhere in the range of $20-25 extra, it just depends on how quickly you want it to get to you).

If that sounds good, e-mail me at roach(at)idiorhythmic(dot)net and I'll find out the exact pricing.

I'm definitely interested... though I'm a little wary. I'm apparently incredibly squishy. I've ordered corsets twice from 2 different people... gave them the exact measurements they asked for, and had to send both back for a smaller size. I suspect that they looked at my measurements and determined whether to give me a small, medium, or large... rather than actually *make* a corset to my measurements (but I'm not sure that is actually what they did). It looks/sounds like you are actually editing your pattern based on measurements and making a corset to fit. I just wanted to make sure that this is indeed the case.... and see what your policy is on reworking/exchange if something doesn't fit correctly.

This is all assuming that you still have spots available.

Hi there!

The pattern will be cut to your measurements. If you'd like to have a fitting before the corset is finalized, that's possible. It'll cost a little extra for shipping and delay the delivery, but that's better than having a corset show up that doesn't fit.

Just for the record, both the lace and cream and the red/gold corsets were "fitted" in the sense that I held the nearly finished pieces around my victims...*ahem*...models, eyed the fit, and concluded it was all good.

As of 9:30 AM on June 10 there are still 3 slots left.
